Perc Up! 2009 Featured Clinician Lance Kindl
Lance Kindl has recently returned from touring with the Emmy and Tony Award Winning Broadway show "Blast!" Lance has toured the US and Japan as a snare soloist and percussion swing for Blast! and "Blast 2: MIX" for the past three years. He is on staff with the University of Georgia Redcoat Marching Band as a drum line instructor for the 2008 season. Lance is also currently enrolled as a graduate student, studying percussion performance at the University of Georgia. Lance Kindl received his music education degree at the University of Georgia. Since the fall of 2001 through the spring of 2005, he studied music at the University with Dr. Tony McCutchen and Dr. Arvin Scott. Lance has been a member of multiple music ensembles at the University of Georgia including the Symphony Band, the Wind Ensemble, the Salsa Band, the Steel Band, and the award-winning Redcoat Marching Band, where he was section leader from 2001 through 2003. Lance has taught at numerous high schools in the metro-Atlanta area. He has been the head of percussion at South Gwinnett High School in Snellville, Georgia from 2003 to 2005 and Mill Creek High School in the spring of 2007. Lance has also been a visual and battery ensemble technician for Odyssey Percussion Theater from Atlanta, Georgia for the 2005 and 2007 seasons. In 2000, Lance began his drum corps career as the center snare drummer for the Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps from Jacksonville, Alabama. For the next two years, Lance continued a leadership role with the Spirit Drum and Bugle Corps. Lance ended his drum corps career in 2003, finishing 4th place in DCI with the Phantom Regiment from Rockford/Loves Park, Illinois. Lance also marched as section leader for the Pariah Marching Percussion Theatre of Jasper, Georgia, the 2003 Winter Guard International percussion Independent Open class silver medalist and 2004 World Class finalist. Lance was also a staff member for the LaMattina Drum Studio in Lawrenceville, Georgia from 1997 through 2000. Welcome to Perc Up!
